I'm still figuring that out, but it sounds like you have a good system down to figure out what books you might want to read. I try to stay away from reviews, just look at a star rating, because then I'm either mildly spoiled or I'll just be waiting for whatever's discussed/hinted at in the review to happen in the book. Thanks for stopping by, and that's a creative way to look at hype!Violet - Paper Worlds and Swirls of Inkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09277327157606171050noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5784581527218363228.post-74883596746317841332014-07-08T14:02:48.162-04:002014-07-08T14:02:48.162-04:00I don't think I have one either!I don't think I have one either!Violet - Paper Worlds and Swirls of Inkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09277327157606171050noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5784581527218363228.post-3767371465145886992014-07-08T14:02:12.976-04:002014-07-08T14:02:12.976-04:00I completely agree with you, and I will definitely...I completely agree with you, and I will definitely have to check out those sales! Also, I like rereading either a part or a whole of a book, whether it's a refresher for the next book in the series or because I miss the world/characters, so checking them out from the library doesn't work. Hype can cause me some problems too. Thanks for linking your TTT and for stopping by!Violet - Paper Worlds and Swirls of Inkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09277327157606171050noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5784581527218363228.post-62455400136780336752014-07-08T13:59:52.920-04:002014-07-08T13:59:52.920-04:00Hype can definitely lead to letdowns. For me, normally the opposite is true- what a lot of people are loving I'll either just like or not like very much, and I like the underrated or generally disliked. I have no idea why. Yes, it sounds like we have the same problem! Hype :(Violet - Paper Worlds and Swirls of Inkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09277327157606171050noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5784581527218363228.post-12470681553203222422014-07-08T13:42:01.245-04:002014-07-08T13:42:01.245-04:00+JMJ+
I'm also suspicious of hype . . . but ...+JMJ+

I'm also suspicious of hype . . . but I have found "anti-hype" to be a friend. That is, I wait until the hype dies down and the critical reviews start piling up. And then I read the negative reviews, which usually tell me exactly what I want to know about the book. You see, I've found that there are certain things I like to read that really drive others up the wall--and when I see enough reviewers going crazy over it, that's actually a good sign for me! I just haven't checked out any books in over a year... I guess I just haven't had any problems finding books to buy. As far as buying goes, I'm with you! Although, I do prefer to buy as many as I can at library book sales. I totally agree with number nine. Some of the most hyped books are so disappointing.

Here are my Confessions!Tracy https://www.blogger.com/profile/10715236765292209452noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5784581527218363228.post-49325102104309744212014-07-08T07:29:43.818-04:002014-07-08T07:29:43.818-04:00I hate the horrible, mean hype monster!!! It's soooo disappointing. It sucks! Rebecca @ Unbound Pageshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14609128581185079525noreply@blogger.com
