About

Welcome to the blog! I'm Violet, and I've been book blogging since October of 2013. However, I've been a reader since a very young age. Around 5 or 6 I was reading through some of my favorite chapter books, and I found that reading is something I've loved for my entire life. I loved having stories read to me, and so I quickly learned how to read them myself.

Today, I'm lucky enough to live in a time where young adult, my favorite genre, has amazing authors and stories, and there's always some truly wonderful books to discover. However, I wanted to share my thoughts about these books. I wanted to talk to other people about them, and so I decided to join the book blogging community. Honestly, I really was inspired to when I was contacted to read a novella. I thought 'Wow, people want to hear what I have to say?' It sounds silly, but I was so excited at the thought of wanting to talk to people about books and hear what they have to say, too.

Now, Violet is actually a pseudonym I've used for writing and book blogging alike since I've started. If you ever read A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket, you might remember the character. That series was my favorite childhood one, and Violet was my favorite character. I remember her in the very first book, and how I admired her bravery, innovation, and perseverance. I'm lucky enough to have a friend who decided to start blogging with me, and she goes by the name Sunny.

If you've ever finished a book and just needed to tell someone about it, cheer on your favorite character, debate a plot twist...well then it's a feeling I'm very familiar. Books are some incredible gifts. To me, books and music are two of the most precious things I have. I love talking to people about books, and so I share my reviews, my thoughts, what I read, what I want to read. This blog is an opportunity for us to talk, for our love of books to be shared. Now, you might be wondering about the name. I was in a writing class, and the prompt was a love poem. Being me, I wrote my ode to books, to book stores, to book shelves, to the paper worlds with their swirls of ink.

So, there's the name. There's me. Now, feel free to explore the blog and talk to me about books. I also have my Twitter, Goodreads, and Tumblr linked in the sidebar if you want to talk about books there too. I'm always open to chatting about books. I hope you enjoy the blog, and thank you for stopping by.

From the paper world,
