Top Ten Tuesday - Top Ten Reasons I Love Being a Book Blogger and Reader

This is an awesome installment of The Broke and the Bookish's Top Ten Tuesday and I'm very excited to talk about it. This is the week to talk about the reasons I love blogging, and the reasons I love reading. Since these are two of my absolute favorite past times, I am more than happy to do this week's. Let's get started.
Both of these lists are in no particular order, and I decided to do five reasons why I love blogging and five why I love reading.

Top 5 Reasons I Love Book Blogging
no. 5 - The People
Yes, this is to all of you! If you follow me, or if you check back often, or if this is your first time, thank you for visiting. I've met so many incredible people blogging, and I've only been doing it for a few months. I've had so much fun talking to other people on Twitter, and checking out Booktube.

no. 4 - The Challenges
There's a lot of challenge in doing this. Coming up with new content, organizing my thoughts into cohesive books reviews, and tackling challenges that are really fun and involved with talking about books.

no. 3 - The Community
There is so much support in the book blogging/book vlogging world. I couldn't have imagined how wonderful it would be to join this when I first started this blog. Readathons are such a fun aspect I've been enjoying lately- I've done the Christmas Booktubeathon and the 24 Hour Readathon and the Bout of Books 9.0 and the Incarnate trilogy readathon. Doing all of those was made better by having Twitter and making friends who were also doing these. This community is so special, and it makes writing posts and new content so much easier because I know that everyone supports each other.

no. 2 - The Fangirling
It is so much fun to freak out about books. However, the more people that are fangirling about a book, the more fun there is to be had. I love talking about new series and getting recommendations and then enjoying the discussions. Half the fun of reading now is talking about them with everyone. It's something truly special about reading and the community.

no. 1 - Writing
I have to admit, it's incredibly fun to write posts. For writing reviews, I have to sit down, think about all the aspects of the book and how they came together. Then, I have to put time and effort into writing a cohesive review. For tags, I get to see others, pull books off my shelf, and write my own. Wrap Ups, TBRs, and Upcoming Books are so exciting to share with everyone and compare what I've read and will. Writing about readathons and participating in group events are fun to share with everyone. And that's the truly incredible thing. Sharing my thoughts with everyone and hearing what others think. For reading, that's something very special.

Top 5 Reasons I Love Reading
no. 5 - Nostalgia
Reading has been essential to me since I was a child. When I first started reading, I read a lot and quickly. I became a more advanced reader, and I loved that because it opened a lot of doors to me sooner. I still have favorite series from years ago, and that makes books so special. They are treasures.

no. 4 - The Characters
I love reading about characters. Whether they're annoying or engaging or charming or snarky, I find that they're always interesting. I love reading about these people with incredible stories. Characters are one aspect of a story that remain more present in my mind.

no. 3 - Getting lost in a book
Self explanatory.

no. 2 - Series.
A well done series is wonderful. You grow with the characters, and their story spans hundreds of pages. It truly is a gift.

no. 1 - There's always more to discover
There are incredible books that I've yet to read. I love that.

So, there are some very long explanations, and some very short ones. I'm not sure what more there is to say, and so thank you for reading, and let me know your reasons.

From the paper world,
V

  1. I love #5 and #1. Books are so nostalgic. They can take you back to a time or place. Every time I read Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix I think about how my uncle bought it for me when he was visiting and we went on a midnight trip to the store to buy board games to play. It always makes me laugh. Great list!

    1. That is such a wonderful story! The Harry Potter books hold sentimentality for me, too. I love your story though, that's a wonderful memory. Thank you, I really did enjoy this prompt, and I loved your TTT too!

  2. Love this post. All of it is so true. I think the people in the blogging community are really what keep me blogging because they are always ready to leave such nice comments. My main reason that I continue to enjoy reading so much is to escape. I love to just get lost in the pages.
